Every year, the peanuts are harvested at a particular area in the Alabama, Georgia, and Florida tri-states. And when this occurs, the residents celebrate the importance of peanuts and the role that they play in Southeast Alabama, known to the locals as the Wiregrass area. This is also done as a nod to the producers of the peanut crop and their constant dedication in ensuring that this healthy and tasty nut reaches us annually.
